Maya Mazor, lawyer and mediator
Bringing together my professional and personal experience lets me understand the complexity of modern family life in depth, and guide you with sensitivity, skill and confidence

Nice to meet you, I'm Maya

In a field as sensitive as family law, legal knowledge alone isn't enough. My work combines law, mediation and emotional understanding, so I can guide you through life's biggest crossroads with confidence and calm.

I've been a lawyer since 2006, with a bachelor's and a master's degree in law, both with highest honours, from the University of Haifa. I completed my internship at the Haifa District Court, where I came to know the legal system from the inside.

Beyond the law, I'm a certified family mediator, a couples counsellor certified by Bar-Ilan University, and a parenting coordinator. I live in Kerem Yosef, in a second-time partnership, and I'm a mother of three. I also volunteer at a sexual assault support centre in the Sharon region.

Practice areas

Law, mediation and couples work under one roof, so you don't have to run between professionals

  • Divorce mediation

Reach agreements together, with professional guidance and without a court battle, ending in an agreement with the force of a judgment

  • Divorce agreements

A thorough, precise agreement, submitted for approval to the family court or the rabbinical court

  • Co-parenting agreements

A clear framework for time with the children, decisions and expenses, so everyone has stability

  • Legal advice when separating

A clear explanation of your rights and options from the first conversation, so you decide from knowledge, not fear

  • Prenuptial agreements

Arranging a couple's property in advance, before or during the marriage, openly and fairly

  • Wills

Individual or mutual wills, carefully drafted so your wishes are respected and clear to the whole family

  • Enduring power of attorney

Choose in advance who will decide for you on property, health and personal matters, if one day you can't decide for yourself

  • Couples counselling and parenting coordination

Support for couples at a crossroads, and for parents after separation, building healthy communication for the children's sake

What mediation is, and why it's worth considering

In mediation, a neutral mediator helps both sides talk constructively and reach agreements that fit their family, and the decisions stay in your hands

  • You decide

The agreements are yours, built around your family's needs

  • Confidential

What's said in mediation stays in the room and can't be used as evidence in court

  • Children first

Throughout the process, the children's wellbeing stays in view

  • Usually shorter and less costly

Fewer hearings and fewer documents, and more energy for what matters

In Israel, before starting a family court case you file a request to settle the dispute and attend information and mediation meetings at the court's support unit. That's exactly the time to consider mediation.

How I work

  • Relationships that last

Parents stay parents after separation, so I help you build communication that will hold for years

  • A process made for you

Every family is different, so I listen, find what really matters to you and shape the process around it

  • With you from start to finish

From the first call to the approved agreement you're not alone, in a safe space without judgement

  • Children first

I make sure the children's voice is heard in the room, and that every decision is weighed by their wellbeing

I came with many fears and worries, in the middle of a life-changing moment. The journey was hard, and each side had wishes, fears and compromises. Maya helped me through it with patience and sensitivity. She knew what to say, helped us define what we wanted, and kept the children's wellbeing in front of her the whole time. Thank you for the personal support, for listening, and for seeing what was good for everyone.
